The Science of Equine Excellence

Bioavailability: The Realized Value

Nature rarely provides nutrients in isolation. True vitality is found in Chemical Pairing —
the way a plant’s minerals, vitamins, and fibers are woven together.
At Vita Equissima, we believe that nutrition is most potent when it is available in its original form.

Every allocation is accompanied by a Eurofins Certificate of Provenance and a complete nutritional analysis.
You will always know what you are feeding and, above all, what portion of that nutrition is actually bioavailable to your horse.

To achieve this depth of insight, Vita Equissima utilizes the INRA (French National Institute for Agricultural Research) system—the most rigorous, equine-specific framework in existence. Where standard industry practices stop at gross 'Crude Protein' estimates, our methodology looks entirely deeper.

Our laboratory partner, Eurofins Galys, applies these advanced, equine-specific equations to every harvest. We measure exclusively for absolute precision, isolating the MADC (Matières Azotées Digestibles par le Cheval)—the definitive coefficient of realized protein uptake defined by the world’s leading equine scientists.

By utilizing the INRA MADC system, we distinguish between the protein physically present in the forage versus the protein biologically accessible to the horse's body. It looks beyond gross protein numbers to measure what is genuinely unlocked from the fiber. Crucially, the tannins from the Sainfoin protect these proteins during gastric transit, ensuring the MADC successfully reaches the small intestine for absorption.

To preserve the structural integrity of the hindgut microbiome, every single harvest also undergoes meticulous Van Soest fiber fractionation, allowing us to safeguard digestive health while honoring the unique provenance of your horse's forage.
